Job satisfaction of philippines public health nurses?

heartstrings asked:

I am conducting a research on how the different areas of the work situation (work, pay, facilities, benefits, supervision, and co-workers) impact on the job satisfaction of public health nurses in the philippines. This is partly in compliance with the requirements of my research 1 class, and partly as an advocacy to improve the health care situation in the country.

In a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being “unsatisfactory” and 10 for “very satisfactory”, please rate the following areas of the work environment:
a) The work
b) Salary
c) Work benefits
d) Hospital facilities
e) Supervision and management
f) Interaction with co-workers

It will also be helpful if you can give your opinion on whether or not the degree of job satisfaction is a determining factor in the migration of Philippine nurses.

thank you ♥♥♥

So non-nurse professionals can’t cast a vote here, right? Simply because they don’t know the real situation in the hospital setting. And I wonder if it’s valid to use YA Philippines in making a thesis.

I wouldnt think that a survey taken on Yahoo Answers would be considered very valid in a true research situation. Perhaps you could find a local health department where you can get leads on professionals in your target area. If the health care survey results in glaring inadequacies, your research will be much more accepted by the powers to be. Although I’m not a resident of the Philippines, your areas in question seem well thought out. I submitted a survey when in grad school and my advisor suggested I reduce my rubric to a 1 to 5 scale. Anyway, good luck with your work. Everyone should be able to receive decent health care!

Hi, im an RN and one of the reasons why im not practicing my profession in the Philippines is because i am giving a fairly low rating on the above criteria. It is sad but this is reality. And you can’t blame the pinoy nurses for leaving the country because they have families to feed and dreams to pursue

you wont get much responses in yahoo answers for that survey. i suggest you go to some hospitals and survey the nurses there.
