GreenCard(EB2 with Pulic Health Degree)?

Hawk J asked:

I’m planning to go for master of public health in california.
I was a math major in college and I will study biostatistics and epidemiology in master program.

Could I be sponsored with EB2 when I graduate? And do you think is it possible for me to be sponsored with Green Card right after graduation?

I heard some companies let forneigners work at least 1 or 2 years and decide if they are gonna sponsor for green card or not.

I wanna know if there are lots of good cases that green card is sponsored by the time one gets a job. I want to do a process quickly.

    Short answer no.

The majority of people are usually sponsored for an H1B, it is very rare that a company will sponsor an applicant for a green card straight off.

Most people will negotiate into their contract with the employer that they will sponsor them for a green card before their H1B expires. This is usually the common way things work and many people end up working an H1B for 5-6 years since the green card process through an employer usually takes a couple of years to procss anyway.
